What I Know 10-31-12

Posted by SAP Community Foundation on Wednesday, October 31, 2012,

It’s hard to look out onto our beautiful fall day and try to keep in mind the devastation that has visited our east coast neighbors, but the storm was historic in an impact that will be felt for months if not years. I read something recently about government being the final resort for those who have no where else to turn, either through lack of planning, lack of judgment, lack of resources, or just plain lack of luck. We all have been there or we all know someone who has...

What I Know 10-24-12

I want to talk this week of community and Andy Boss. Both were celebrated last night at the kick-off of a fundraising campaign for Park Square’s new Andy Boss Thrust Stage. The event was held at our own Park Midway Bank and hosted by bank CEO Rick Beeson. First, no matter what anyone says about giv...

What I Know 10-3-12

Posted by SAP Community Foundation on Wednesday, October 3, 2012,

I came across an interesting organizational approach in an Incommons newsletter. Incommons is an outreach tool of the Bush Foundation, which supports community solutions through online resources. They passed along information about “Network Weaving,” an approach to leadership that requires the hands of many instead of counting on a few people to push an initiative forward and make things happen.

I find this latter mode of leadership increasingly challenging in the ...
