What I Know 2-26-14

Good news, the school district and teachers have agreed on a contract extension averting a potential strike. It's not a completely done deal yet as the teachers have yet to vote on it, but it looks like they will support it. There's been a lot written about the opposing views, which in large part come down, not to differences in substance, but in implementation and timing. What I Know 2-19-14

First off, I'm feeling better (24-hour stomach thing last week.) Thanks for asking! Before those unhappy few days, I did have the chance to take a little get-a-way to the southwest, so I was able to replace the visual landscapes of white around here with a panorama of brown - and green. That's a whole other story, the sustainability of pumping enough water into thousands of acres of sand to produce grass, but we have our own sustainability issues, so I'll leave that alone for the time being. ...

Let me start by apologizing for the delay, I got hit with a nasty virus yesterday that pretty much took me out of all activity. I'm still recovering, so this will be brief, but there are a couple of timely pieces of news to pass along.

Last week I noted some transitions of neighborhood folks - Paul Fate announcing his retirement from Common Bond and Amy Sparks moving on to the CEZ from D12 - but I forgot to mention Hans Weyandt leaving Micawbers.
