Grant History

The endowment funds of the Saint Anthony Park Community Foundation are invested with and managed by St. Paul and Minnesota Foundation. Our endowment totals $1,271,273 (as of October 21, 2024) and since the first grant in 1999, more than $1.1 million has been awarded to over 60 local organizations and community initiatives.

Grant support comes from four endowed funds:

  • The Gerald R. McKay Family Music Fund, named after one of our founding Board Trustees, Gerry McKay. This fund honors Gerry’s love of music and the arts and recognizing the importance role music and the arts have in our community.

  • The SAP Environmental Education Fund, this fund focuses on initiatives that have a focus on the improving our environment, build or natural, projects addressing the impacts of climate change and sustainability & environmental education initiatives.

  • The Andy Boss Fund, named after founding Board Chair, Andy Boss, who was at the time, Sunrise Bank President. This fund supports a wide variety of programs that support aging in place, youth, education, health and wellbeing, economic and community development initiatives.

  • The Michael Brasel Fund for Youth, the newest fund, which was established in 2023, honors Michael Brasel, a local neighbor, friend, husband and dad who tragically lost his life in 2023. Funds from this fund are used to support positive youth development initiatives.
